Joined by representatives of Lao PDR state authorities, Mr. Marc Franck, Head of the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Office (Hanoi) presided at the opening of the new LANITH training centre in Luang Prabang during an Open House ceremony held on 28 February 2013. Presented as a further example of Luxembourg’s innovative approach to hospitality training and education in Laos, the new LANITH hospitality complex will offer training programmes for local hospitality staff such as its acclaimed “Passport to Success – Go for Gold” skills programme. The Luang Prabang Hospitality Complex was developed within the framework of Luxembourg’s LAO/020  Program “Strengthening of Human Resources and Hospitality

The construction of the hospitality complex was financed by Luxembourg with a grant of 200,000 €. Operations at the complex are overseen by Lanith core team members. Praised for their key location within the tourist hub of Luang Prabang, the new facilities, comprising guestrooms, a bar, a restaurant and a meeting room, are promised to attract business events and can accommodate up to 36 participants. While such revenues will make the functioning sustainable, it is generally acknowledged that the Lanith Hospitality Complex will greatly contribute to the progress of service quality in Laos.
