Vietnam - Luxembourg supports people affected by recent typhoons

Published Thursday October 24 2013

In collaboration with the Vietnamese Red Cross, Luxembourg assists people affected by the passage of Typhoons Wutip and Nari beginning of October. A contribution of 100,000 EUR has been officially handed over to the Red Cross in Hanoi on October 24, 2013. The financial assistance will be targeted to most vulnerable households in the central provinces. It is not the first time that Luxembourg responds to the emergency appeal of Vietnam. In 2011 a donation by the Grand Duchy allowed direct assistance to people affected by severe flooding as well as the construction of Vinh Tri kindergarten school. Through its bilateral assistance Luxembourg development cooperation further supports the strengthening of resilience of populations in coastal areas in Thua Thien Hué province through its Climate Adapted Local Development and Innovation Project.
