Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Wunna Maung Lwin, to Luxembourg
Mr Wunna Maung Lwin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, visited Luxembourg on February 8th, 2013. During his visit he had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Mr Jean Asselborn.
This was the first official visit of a Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Luxembourg since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on July 31st, 2012.
The two Ministers discussed ways to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations. They also highlighted the opportunity to develop business and economic connections between the Grand Duchy and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Following the launch of the encouraging political and economic reform process in Myanmar, Minister Asselborn declared his willingness to accompany Myanmar on its path of development, in the economic as well as the social and environmental levels.
The two Ministers also discussed current regional developments.
