20th anniversary of the Belgian-Luxembourg/Thai Chamber of Commerce
On March 20, 2013, Ambassador Marc Thill attended, together with his spouse, the Gala Dinner organized at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, Bangkok, in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Belgian-Luxembourg/Thai Chamber of Commerce, BELUTHAI. More than 600 guests participated in this event, which took place in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium, who are heading a delegation of Ministers and more than 150 business people from Belgium visiting Thailand from March 17 to 22,. HRH Prince Philippe as well as Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, former Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary General of ASEAN, addressed the audience with much applauded keynote addresses about the future of relations between Belgium and Thailand and between and within ASEAN and Europe. HRH Prince Philippe himself handed over special awards to the three founding members of BELUTHAI, who are still members of its Board: Dr. Vibul Pattarathammas from Thailand, Mr. Daniel Chaudière from Belgium and Mr. Pierre Metz from Luxembourg. The Gala Dinner was closed by remarks of BELUTHAI’s present Chairman, Dr. Sutharm Valaisathien.
