Celebration of the National Day of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Singapore
On the 20th of June, 2014, the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg had the honor of hosting a reception at the prestigious Tanglin Club in Singapore on the occasion of the celebration of the National Day of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Besides the approximately 250 invited guests in attendance, the Ambassador was very pleased to receive as guests of honor H. E. Ms. Sim Ann, Minister of State, Ministry of Communication and Information as well as Ministry of Education, H. E. Mr. Sam Tan Chin Siong, Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, H. E. Ms. Ellen Lee Geck Hoon, Member of Parliament for Sembawang Group Representation Constituency, and H. E. Mr. Edwin Tong Chun Fai, Member of Parliament for Moulmein-Kallang Group Representation Constituency, presenting the best wishes of the President of the Republic of Singapore, H. E. Mr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, and of the Government of the Republic of Singapore.
The Embassy would like to thank everybody for attending and hope they had a pleasant evening. The event this year was organized by the newly appointed Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Ms. Michelle Liem, and Mr. Patrick Seil, Luxembourgs Foreign Trade Advisor, as well as their staff.
In his speech, the Ambassador pointed out some of the most salient events of the past year and expressed his gratitude and his satisfaction with regards to the quality of the relations between Singapore and Luxembourg.
