Opening ceremony of new dormitories for law students at the National University of Laos - Vientiane
On 14 February 2014, Professor Dr Soukkongseng Saignaleuth, the President of the National University of Laos and Mr Claude Jentgen, the Head of the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Office in Hanoi, opened new dormitories for poor law students coming from the provinces to study in Vientiane.
The facilities were built thanks to a major financial support from Luxembourg in participation with the Lao government. The construction work, implemented by Lux-Development together with the Faculty of Law, has been part of the project LAO 023, “Strengthening the Rule of Law through Legal University Education”, started in 2010 and running until May this year.
The aim of the project is to improve the quality of legal education and preparations are now on their way to extend the project following recommendations by the Steering Committee.
