Study mission by a Luxembourg ICT-Delegation to Singapore
From May 19 to May 23, the Embassy of Luxembourg had the honor to join the representatives of the Luxembourg Business Federation (FEDIL), Senior officials of the Media Department of the Ministry of State, the Ministry of the Economy, the Luxembourg Post and the University of Luxembourg, as well as the owners, partners, CEOs, managers or directors of sixteen private companies active in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector on a fact finding and exploratory mission to Singapore.
One year after a similar first visit to Silicon Valley (USA), the delegation had meetings with representatives of Interpol, the regional office in Singapore of the “Société Européenne des Satellites” (SES) and Hoffmann & Partners, ST Electronics, SingTel, the Singapore Internet Exchange (SGIX), Innov8, SITF, Crimsonlogic, INSEAD, A*Star, the NUS, the NTU, as well as with the Information Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).
At a reception organized at the China Club, the delegation met with numerous Luxembourg citizens working in Singapore and employees of Luxembourg companies present in the country. During this event, members of the private sector present in the delegation signed the charter of DigitaLuxembourg, a federation of organizations created by a number of associations representing Luxembourg ICT companies active in various sectors of the economy. The objective of the DigitaLuxembourg is to defend the interest and to contribute to the development of the sector in Luxembourg and to promote its activities throughout the world.
