The Embassy of Luxembourg attended the first Myanmar Development Cooperation Forum in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar

Publié le dimanche 20 janvier 2013

Following an invitation by the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development, the Embassy of Luxembourg attended the first Myanmar Development Cooperation Forum in Nay Pyi Taw on 19 and 20 January 2013. As the government of Myanmar declared its intentions to follow a transparent course in channeling and coordinating aid, an impressive number of countries, UN organizations  and NGOs attending the Forum declared their support for the country’s change of policies. The Forum adopted the Nay Pyi Taw Accord for Effective Development Cooperation which defines principles of development cooperation along the internationally shared guide-lines of the Busan Partnership concluded in 2011 (see  http://www.president-office.gov.mm/en/briefing-room/news/2013/01/21/id-1432 ).

Luxembourg is currently offering multilateral support to development issues in Myanmar through its focussed contributions to UNHCR, WFP and UNDP projects.
