Consultations on Luxembourg’s future support to Lao PDR

On June 23 around 50 representatives of the Lao and Luxembourg governments, LuxDev, UN agencies in Laos, NGOs supported by Luxembourg and other development partners gathered in Vientiane to discuss the orientations of Luxembourg’s support to Laos under the 8th National Socio-Economic Development Plan 2016 – 2020. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Kikeo Chanthaboury, Vice Minister of Planning and Investment and Mr. Claude Jentgen, Chargé d’Affairs a.i. of the Embassy of Luxembourg in Hanoi. Participants valued Luxembourg’s continued support to the country and reconfirmed the sectors of health, rural development, vocational training in the tourism sector and governance as those sectors in which Lao-Luxembourg development cooperation has a comparative advantage and can make the biggest difference.
