Dr. Jean-Claude Faber was honored by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health for his contribution to improving health care in Vietnam

On the occasion of the hosting of the 8th Congress of Asia Pacific Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis by Vietnam, the Ministry of Health honored Dr. Jean-Claude Faber for his important contribution and support to Vietnamese health authorities in improving cold chain management and putting in place safe and efficient blood transfusion systems. Dr. Faber was one of three international experts who were awarded the medal for special merit in supporting the improvement of health care in Vietnam. During her speech Dr. Nguyễn Thị Kim Tiến, Minister of health, underlined the good cooperation with Dr. Faber in the framework of several support projects funded by Luxembourg development cooperation aimed at strengthening the management of Vietnam’s blood cold chain as well as the cold chain in support of the expended programme on immunization. Dr. Faber is currently a member of the WHO Expert Panel in Blood Transfusion and the president of Luxembourg Haemophilia Association. He has been consulting Luxembourg development cooperation in several countries including Vietnam, Laos and Nicaragua.
