FAQ regarding the COVID-19 situation in Thailand

 

Can foreigners travel to Thailand?

Yes, but only some categories depicted here. Furthermore, the Thai Embassies and Consulates are currently issuing the normal 60-day tourist visa (SETV) and the special tourist visa (STV) for long-stay tourists who would like to travel to Thailand. All travelers must stay for the 14-day mandatory quarantine at government-approved hotels in Thailand at the traveler's own expense. 

Can foreigners are authorized to leave Thailand?

Visitors or residents can leave the country.

Is there any existing curfew in Thailand?

No, it has not been in effect since June 15, 2020.

Is it possible to travel anywhere in Thailand?

Yes, it is possible to travel within the country. However, the usual precautionary measures regarding the Covid-19 must be observed, particularly the wearing of a mask and respect for social distancing in public places.

Which buildings are open?

All buildings are reopened, and schools as well.

What are precautionary measures advised when traveling outside?

You should wear surgical or protective masks in public places. You should frequently wash your hands with soap, alcohol, gel or disinfectant. You must keep a distance of at least one meter from others when you are sitting or waiting to prevent physical contact or contamination of the disease through the postilions.

What should I do if I want to return to Luxembourg?

You must be sure that your visa is still valid before leaving. It is automatically extended until the end of October, 2020 without having to go to an Immigration office if the visa has not expired after March 26, 2020. Then, you must check with airlines for commercial flights available. The Embassy cannot provide a detailed list of available flights due to the extreme difficulty in obtaining reliable and current information. It is therefore everyone's duty to seek a flight to Europe. It is no longer necessary to present a certificate allowing you to transit through a EU/Schengen Member State.
