Catapult: Financial Inclusion South-East Asia

The first edition of "Catapult: Inclusion South-East Asia" was launched at the end of April in Bangkok in the margins of the Money 20/20 Conference, by the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg.

Catapult ASEAN is a remarkable initiative which aims to reshape the landscape of entrepreneurship and innovation in the ASEAN region through the lens of financial inclusion.

Close to 30 institutional and industry partners from all over Southeast Asia joined the LHoFT in this endeavor. MoUs with several fintech associations were signed at the Luxembourg pavilion as well as agreements with DEPA - the Digital Economy Promotion Agency – and Techsauce of Thailand. These partnerships reflects the collective ambition to enhance financial inclusivity and innovation across continents.

Fifteen innovative startups from the region were selected to take part in the first week of incubation program in Thailand. A cohort of 10 was selected to join the second week of the program, which is taking place in Luxembourg from June 24-28, during Nexus 2050.

The 10 startups will have a unique opportunity to discover Luxembourg’s thriving startup fintech ecosystem and to showcase their disruptive solutions at the Nexus 2050 conference, while also meeting VCs and potential investors.
